Name: Christina Kaku

Age; 70years

Location; Gumbo South         Mrs. Christiana Kaku, 70 years of age is among the cash beneficiaries in the category of the elderly. She has been staying in Torit but she reallocated to Juba some years back because of the insecurity. “I don’t have work that am doing although I used to cultivate but am unable to do so because I developed some fungal infection that affected my legs and hands and besides am homeless staying with my relatives because I don’t have my own money to build a house.” She tearfully said. She narrated that she does not have anyone to support her. She lost all her children and she currently have orphans to take care off.

I have never got any support from any organization but this was the first of its kind that I have got Cash assistant from OPEN. I appreciate the organization for their work and am so happy for the support offered to me. She explained that she was able to immediately use the money to buy medicine to treat the infection on her hands and feet and from the time Christina bought the medicine, the pain has greatly reduced in her feet and the hands. She also narrated that she used the other money to buy charcoal and food. “I feel so good for the work of this organization because I was able to battle off one of the most challenging situations in my life more especially, the sickness that I have struggled with for very many years in my life and am requesting OPEN to help more people in the who are needy and also to help in constructing houses for the elders who are homeless,” She expressed!
